A Speed School is a program that teaches athletes how to enhance acceleration, deceleration, and explosive athletic qualities on the pitch with T.O.A Sports Performance coaches Lauren Dreitlein, Marci Beck, and Jack Propst. T.O.A’s Speed School will help develop each athlete’s running mechanics, gait and ultimate soccer performance! One of the benefits to a fundamentally sound speed program is its contribution to injury prevention, and important development of the brain-body connection. We will be taking athletes through a proper, safe, and effective warm-up, followed by speed specific movement preparation, and bringing it all together with max effort sprints. This minicamp is designed to familiarize you and your athletes with the process of effectively preparing your athletes to perform on the pitch from the mechanical standpoint of speed and repeat sprint ability.
Following the T.O.A Speed School, Emma Nelson, T.O.A’s Registered Dietitian, will be providing valuable insight to the importance of pre- and post-training nutrition & hydration. The relationship between nutrition & performance is direct and Emma will provide tips and strategies for nutrient timing and composition around training. You can’t be effective without the adequate and timely nutrition soccer athletes require.
